Autism the Ghostly Disorder


Autism is one of those disorders that has no visible identifying features. You can not tell if someone is autistic by looking at them. Parents of an autistic child hear over and over again "Really? He/She doesn't look it" when you tell them they are autistic.

Bathrooms Are Not Handicap Accessible For Children With Autism


When I was potty training Sierra, every time I saw the handicap sign for a bathroom I would think "autism is a handicap for Sierra but this bathroom is not too accessible for her."

Autism and Bullying - Grab the Bull by the Horns!


We had a little bullying problem this year and I thought that I should grab the bull by the horns. Let's raise awareness about the bullying of our children with autism!

Researchers from the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University conducted a survey of 1,200 parents who had a child with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and found 63 percent of the kids had been bullied.
